Commonwealth Games

My  Prior knowledge about Commonwealth Games.
My  prior  knowledge about Commonwealth Games are the Commonwealth Games happen every four years and different countries  compete in the Commonwealth Games . When they win the get medals  and they also compete against other countries .
My New Knowledge about the Commonwealth Games  
 
The Commonwealth Games started on the 24 July and  the closing ceremony is on the 4  August. The Commonwealth Games are described as the third largest multi-sport event in the world.
The British  Empire Games (1930-1950), now called The Commonwealth  Games started in the year 1930 and the Commonwealth Games were held every four years except the years 1942 and 1946 . The Commonwealth Games were cancelled due to  World  War  Two.
The first Commonwealth Games were held in Hamilton, in Canada . The second Commonwealth Games were held in the capital city of England which is London, in  the year 1934 and the third  Commonwealth Games were held in Sydney in the year 1938 and in 1950  the Commonwealth Games were held in Auckland  New Zealand. The last time the Commonwealth Games  were in Scotland was in the year 1986. In the year 1930 there were 11 countries and 400 hundred athletes were taken  part  in 59 events .  The  Commonwealth Games  are like the Olympics Games.
 This year the Commonwealth Games are held in Scotland
                                          

Evaluation of my learning
To keep up with the Commonwealth Games I will need to read the newspaper , watch the news about the Commonwealth Games and I will have to read the New Zealand  Herald .
